Deep meditative thought
There is a story that the fitness industry is telling, and an agenda that many of us have been buying into for years: that our value is based on how we look, how much we weigh, and how many calories we can burn.
Increasingly, fitness studios in the West have focused almost exclusively on the endorphin high of exercise; pushing students to their physical limits. The message they are sending is that our lives, our stressors, and our mental health will improve when we change how we look on the outside.
Kate seeks to change the way we approach physical fitness and mental health, emphasizing the care of the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. Through customized practices of mindfulness, meditation, breath, movement, and grounding exercises, Kate helps her students build lasting internal skills that create change from the inside out. Kate views each of her students with nurturing guidance through the lens of trauma-informed care, cultivating highly customized practices, which provide her students with lasting skills for a fruitful life on and off the mat.
